West“ (UA) (2nd week). Swung the turnstiles here first week

to tune of $43,000 and on holdover will get around

$30,000, excellent considering Sunday‘s storm. Chaplin‘s

„Modern Times“ (UA) now won‘t arrive on the scene

until early in February, date to be set.

by Charles Chaplin in order that he can ship the

film to New York for the Rivoli opening Jan. 31 and to London

      Only preview so far war a sneak in San Francisco.

      Charles Chaplin in „Modern Times,“ which will have its world premiere at the Rivoli, New York, Jan. 31, will be handled

by the United Artists sales department separate from the other

releases of this season. The only preview review

of „Modern Times“ appeared exclusively in „Daily Variety,“

Dec. 28. The picture is not likely to be shown again

publicly until the public world premiere.
