flight in order to be in New York for the premiere

of „The Great Dictator,“ of which he is director and star. The

comedian is shown as he reached LaGuarda airport.

      Charlie Chaplain arrived in New York without fanfare

yesterday to attend the premiere of his new picture, „The Great Dictator,“ Tuesday evening.

      Mr. Chaplin came here from Hollywood by American

Airlines plane, slighting at La Guardia Field without attracting

attention. He will stay with friends during his visit

in New York.

afternoon. Last night at the Waldorf-Astoria he told the press
