Ascribed to the fact that more than a century of sawdust
atmosphere is included in a single performance,
all ages of circus fans, from octogenarians to kindergarten
children, are included in the throngs trooping to see
Sid Grauman‘s presentation of Charlie Chaplin‘s The Circus
in the Chinese Theater.
Visitors who number their years by the scores find
in Charlie‘s circus on the screen the little, one-ring,
horse-drawn show playing the country towns that thrilled
them in their youth. The amateurishness of those
barnstorming presentations is used by Chaplin to aid
