& Just a shack, but it‘s home to Charlie Chaplin.

Chaplin‘s estate in Beverly Hills adjoins

„Pickfair.“ The oddly shaped stretch of lawn is a miniature

golf course which leads down to the inevitable

swimming pool and bath-house. Hey, Charley! Two

fellows are walking on your grass!

„In Chaplin Home“

Editorial content. „Jimmy Walker‘s Coast

      Visit in Chaplin Home

                                             Hollywood, March 3.

Mayor Jimmy Walker is expected here to spend his

forthcoming vacation. The Walker local home will be the Charlie

Chaplin mansion. Chaplin tendered it to the mayor before

leaving New York for his European trip.

The trip west should start from schedule by March 18.

Accompanying the mayor on a special car will be Mr. and Mrs.

  1. A.C. Blumenthal.“

It‘s not the Chaplin mansion in Beverly Hills, but the

estate of Samuel Untermyer in Palm Springs, California,

where „Beau James“ J. Walker stays with Mr. and

Mrs. A. C. Blumenthal for two weeks of March. In 1931 New

York legislature forms a committee to investigate the

City government and its agencies for extensive corruption.

The „mayor of the jazz age“ resigns on Sept. 1, 1932.
