„A dual world premiere tonight at the Astor and Capitol

     Charlie Chaplin‘s long-awaited The Great Dictator will have

a dual world premiere tonight at the Astor and Capitol

Theatres. The comedy, which took two years to make and cost

more than $2,000,000, is Chaplin‘s first production since

Modern Times, which was released in February, 1936. Chaplin

talks for the first time in The Great Dictator and also

plays a dual role.

      Starting tomorrow, the picture will be shown twice daily at the

Astor and on a continuous-run policy at the Capitol.“

      The Great Dictator world premiere is in New York Oct. 15, 1940

      at the Capitol and Astor Theatres.
