& Loew‘s Empress. – Everything is in

readiness at Loew‘s Empress for the opening at that theatre

at 11 o‘clock this morning of the four days‘ engagement

of the great six-reel Keystone comedy film laugh, Tillie´s Punctured Romance, featuring Marie Dressler, Charles Chaplin

and Mabel Normand, supported by sixty Keystone players.

      It is doubtful if a more remarkable feature film has

ever been offered in a local theatre. In the three months that

Tillie´s Punctured Romance has been shown throughout

the country it has broken attendance records everywhere and

in most of the large eastern and western cities it has played

in theatres for three to seven weeks continuously.

& Now Commences a Four-day Session of the Funniest Show

      Ever at The Empress Theater.

      And this is the day of days at Loew‘s Empress for

the ,movie‘ fans and, in fact, for every playgoer in town who enjoys

a laugh.

      This morning at 11 o‘clock begins the four-day

engagement at the Empress of the great six-reel Keystone

comedy film, Tillie´s Punctured Romance, with Marie

Dressler, Charles Chaplin and Mabel Normand in the three

leading roles and supported by a great company of

sixty Keystone artists.

      This will be the first presentation in Salt Lake of what

is easily one of the funniest and most famous comedy

films ever manufactured. Marie Dressler is, of course, known

to all the world of playgoers as a mighty funny woman

on the stage. She is even funnier in ,the movies‘. Charles Chaplin,

,the man with the funny legs,‘ is the Keystone star who

has made so remarkable a record in the comedy films, and

Mabel Normand is the pretty girl who plays the heroine

in the Keystone films.

      EverywhereTillie´s Punctured Romance has broken

records, and the fact that it has been secured for the Empress

for the next four days only means packed houses at every

performance. The matinees begin at the Empress at 11 a. m.

and run until 5 p. m. The night shows start at 5 p. m. and

run until 11 p. m.
