      The film capital is becoming known as a port of missing

kids since Sid Grauman opened his outdoor menagerie

and side show in connection with the run of Charlie Chaplin‘s

„The Circus,“ in Grauman‘s Chinese Theater.

      Whenever Capt. E. M. Slaughter, chief of detectives

of the Hollywood police division, receives a call from

frantic parents to locate missing youngsters, he first dispatches

an officer to the forecourt of the Chinese to look over

the throng attracted from far and wide by the free outdoor show.

      Trade was much better last week at all the first run

houses. The Circus, after breaking a house record

on its second week at Grauman‘s Chinese by doing $30,000,

repeated again by doing a bit more last week. Picture
