The Howard Theatre, Atlanta, Ga., makes a most impressive
spectacle in the darkness of the night. The brightly
lighted marquee and the respendent dome cast that elusive
shadow over the entire front of the theatre that makes
it stand out from among its surroundings. Note too how well
it can advertise its showing, in this instance,
Paramount‘s „The Golden Bed“ directed by Cecil de Mille.

& On the landing of the marble stairway leading
to the mezzanine floor of the Howard Theatre, Manager
Harrison placed a huge urn with a peacock made
of beaver board mounted on it against a background of dark
blue velour. It was constructed in the Howard‘s
studio and made a clever bit of exploitation for Metro‘s
„Peacock Alley.“

„Stop the show“
Editorial content. „Howard,
Charlie Chaplin is back again; he‘s at the Howard theater
this week in The Circus. The picture comes, after two
years in the making, heralded as the funniest of Chaplin‘s
contributions, and the greatest comedy of all time.
This week‘s stage attraction, Jazz à la Carte, is probably the
fastest, most entertaining band show seen at the
Howard in many months. In the production Ray Teal and his
boys introduce some talented performers, every
one of whom fairly ,stop the show.‘“
