„He is camping at the hospital“

Editorial content. „Charlie Cuts Film

      To Play With Baby

Los Angeles, Cal. July 10. – Charles Chaplin, jr., first son

and heir of Charlie Chaplin, king of film comedians,

is more than a $10,000 baby. Charlie, sr., paid a $10,000 bet

to Mrs. Chaplin when he found it was a boy. Since

then Charles, jr., who is about forty-eight hours old, has been

costing his dad many more dollars per hour. A ,mob‘

in costume and stage paint has been waiting and drawing

salary at the Chaplin studio, ready to finish the

scene Charlie was working on when the doctor called and said: ,Congratulations, old man: It‘s a boy.‘ But so far

Charlie hasn‘t given a hang for the ,mobs.‘ He is camping

at the hospital, and no one but Charles, jr., and Mrs.

Chaplin have been able to interest him.“
