One of the most important announcements which has been
made in many a day, from the standpoint of the millions
of Charlie Chaplin fans all over the world, was one yesterday
by the comedian himself., who, in the course of a chat
which I had with him at the studio, stated what the nature of his
first picture for the United Artists Corporation would be.“
„In short, it looks as if the comedian were about to come
into his own. In place of the extravagant jazz comedies
which have made him famous, Mr. Chaplin looks forward to
making pictures, in which his own rich vein of whimsical
humor shall blend with really human stories.“ (...)
