HERE are two more of the simple, but highly effective
lobby displays arranged by A. J. Laurie, publicity manager of the Midway theatre, Montreal.“ (...)
„Only the central portion of the display on A Dog‘s Life
is shown, carrying out one the funniest scenes in the
picture – where the dog, concealed in the star‘s trousers, beats
the drum with his tail through a hole in the selfsame
trousers. It was found impossible in the display to arrange
things so that the tail would strike the drum so
a tom-tom was substituted. Of course the tail was movable
and the drummer‘s hand worked in harmony with it.
There were cutout figures, and in the background was the cotton
frame with the decorations and lettering.“ (...)
