„I‘m sorry to say I was disappointed“

Editorial content. „Chaplin Talkie

      Hardly Meets Expectations

      ,THE GREAT DICTATOR‘“ (...)

      „By Mae Tinée.

      Good Morning!

,Ubiquitous‘ – used in a broad sense – is becoming a word

for mammoth first run movies. The Great Dictator is the

second widely heralded screen event to bow simultaneously

to the dear public from two loop houses.

After standing on mental tippy toe for a matter of some

five years awaiting the advent of a Chaplin talkie,

one would love to record that the finished product surpasses

or at least measures up to anticipation. I‘m sorry

to say I was disappointed.“ (...)
