      „Chaplin Adds 2 Scenes

Charlie Chaplin made two added scenes in The Great

Dictator to the surprise of everyone, for we all thought

his comedy was finished. But Charlie is so meticulous that

he keeps working even though his associates see

little chance of improving it. New York is all agog over its

premiere. It opens at the Capitol and one other

theatre at a date which is not definitely set, but New York

gets it a week ahead of Los Angeles.“

The Great Dictator world premiere is in New York Oct. 15, 1940

at the Capitol and Astor Theatres.

Capitol Theatre, 1645 Broadway (at 51st Street), New York.

Astor Theatre, 1531 Broadway (at 45th Street), New York.
