Admirers pf the peculiar genius of Charlie Chaplin will have
every opportunity to gratify their likings in that respect
this week, for he will be shown in first releases of two different
productions today and all week at the Casino. His first
effort for the Mutual program, entitled „The Floorwalker,“ and
one of his previous productions from the Essanay
studio, „Police!“ which has not yet been shown, are by a
coincidence released simultaneously. (...) „Police!“
strikes a new vein of Chaplin‘s humor. He is pictured
as a convict, whose time has just expired.
Released from prison, he is robbed of the money allowance
given by the State. He then becomes a confederate
of a burglar. They enter e home, but Charlie is of a little
assistance to his partner, for he confines his
thievery to the ice-box. Many highly humorous scenes
are introduced before the comedy hero repents
of his evil ways. (...)

Editorial content. „Casino.
„A triple feature program is announced for the Casino Theater
next week, with comedy as the dominant element. Sunday,

has expired and the warden gives him the usual allowance for
released prisoners. Then follow many incidents giving
Chaplin opportunity as a laugh producer. The Floorwalker, also
featuring Chaplin in the funny situations that may arise
in a big department store, and Rube Goldberg‘s animated cartoons
will be shown also.“
