„The funniest film ever”

      Funniest comedian of film world makes new   

      record; he´s appearing at three Tacoma

      theatres at once

      Charles Chaplin, declared by exhibitors and audiences

to be the funniest comedian in motion pictures, is making the

entire United States laugh with his newest comedies.

      In Tacoma, for an example, Chaplin is attracting audiences

to three theatres today, and the business at those theatres

is enhanced tremendously, the managers say, through

the comedian‘s presence on the films.

      Chaplin is starring at the Colonial with Marie Dressler

and Mabel Normand in the funniest film ever brought

here, Tillie´s Punctured Romance. At the Melbourne, Chaplin

and Miss Normand are seen in The Property Man,

another screaming comedy. At the Pantages theater the

movie this week has been included as a regular act

of the bill, because Chaplin has the star part. It is a two-part

film, Dough and Dynamite.

      All the films shown in Tacoma this week are from the

Keystone company. Movie patrons will be interested to know

that Chaplin last week signed a contract with the Essanay

company at Chicago and is already at work on some brand new Essanay comedies.

      Der Titel: „Lustigster Comedian der Filmwelt stellt

neuen Rekord auf: Er erscheint in drei Theatern in Tacoma

gleichzeitig.“

      Der Text: „„Charles Chaplin, von Kinobetreibern

und Publikum zum lustigsten Film Comedian erklärt, bringt die

ganzen United States zum Lachen mit seinen

neuesten Comedies.“

      „In Tacoma zum Beispiel zieht Chaplin heute Publikum

gleich in drei Theater, und das Geschäft in diesen

Theatern, sagen die Manager, hat sich durch die Präsenz

des Comedian in den Filmen gewaltig gesteigert.“

      „Chaplin spielt im Colonial mit Marie Dressler und Mabel

Normand in Tillie´s Punctured Romance, dem lustigsten,

hier jemals gezeigten Film. Im Melbourne sind Chaplin und

Mabel Normand in The Property Man zu sehen, einem

weiteren Comedy Brüller. Im Pantages Theater hat der Film,

in dem Chaplin die Hauptrolle spielt, in dieser Woche

zum regulären Teil des Programms gehört. Es ist der Zweiteiler

Dough and Dynamite.“

      Der Keystone Titel Dough and Dynamite spielt auf

den Keystone Titel Love and Dynamite an, der am 4. Januar 1914 herausgekommen war.

      „Alle in dieser Woche in Tacoma gezeigten Filme sind

von der Keystone Company. Kinobesucher dürfte interessieren,

dass Chaplin letzte Woche einen Vertrag mit der Essanay

Company in Chicago unterzeichnet hat und bereits an brandneuen

Essanay Komödien arbeitet.“
