„The Rink,“ Charlie Chaplin‘s newest comedy, which will

be shown at the Garrick all next week, affords the

little comedian a chance he has been waiting for in some time –

showing his extraordinary ability as a roller skater.

In „The Rink,“ with Edna Purviance as „the butterfly,“ Chaplain

is said to put across one of the funniest ideas ever

conceived for the screen. Everyone knows that Charlie‘s feet

are the funniest facts about Chaplin.

Edna Purviance with her trim figure and ability to do

anything on skates, from dancing a jig to turning

a somersault, is an excellent foil for Chaplin comedy.

& CHAPLIN AT GARRICK

Charlie Chaplin, the world‘s highest priced comedian, will be

seen at the Garrick next week in a brand new comedy

called „The Rink,“ which, according to all advance accounts,

is one of the funniest things Chaplin has done this year.

In this play Charlie is a waiter in a high class restaurant, and what

he doesn‘t succeed in finding in the way of trouble might

easily be considered negligible. The real action of the piece

centers in the „Oskaspeil Rink,“ where Charlie takes

the lady upon whom he has for the moment centered his perfervid

affections. Then the fun follows.
