The Gold Rush Clippings 88/363

Film Daily, New York, June 15, 1924.

Above, you see a splendid panorama picture of the grounds

on which stand the residences of some of the film

colony‘s foremost members. Those roofs you can see are part

of the Chaplin residence, and, also, Pickfair.

(...) Talking Screen, June 1930

& The Chaplins live in the same house now, and this is it.

(...) Photoplay, Feb. 1926

& A long-shot of the rear of the house showing the

faultlessly kept lawn, dotted with stately trees

and edged with luxuriant shrubbery, which slopes down

to the swimming-pool.

(...) Photoplay, June 1929

& Just a shack, but it‘s the home of Charlie

Chaplin. Chaplin‘s estate in Beverly Hills adjoins „Pickfair.“

The oddly shaped stretch of lawn is a miniature

golf course which leads down to the inevitable pool and

bath-house. Hey, Charlie! Two fellows are walking

on your grass!

„To soften the waters of Beverly Hills

Editorial content. „HARD STUFF – BUT IT WAS WATER

Charley Chaplin hasn‘t been in print lately. But he broke

in a day or so ago in an unusual manner. The ,dry‘

squad of Los Angeles got after him. Could not understand

why he had so much of his embompoint. And Lou

is sort of looking into a them and also a queer looking boiler,

to soften the waters of Beverly Hills.

What a chance for Will Rogers to pull a wheeze?“
