they are photographed with Charles Spencer
Chaplin. So here is Chaliapin, the noted Russian basso,
photographed on the studio walk with the screen‘s

A woman patron of concerts called up the local
concert manager of a certain city and asked
what Charley Chaplin was going to sing at his recital.
The manager stammered that, while the movie
comedian is a good amateur ,cellist, he is not a singer.
Then a thought, and he elicited from the woman
that is was Feodor Chaliapin, the Russian bass, whom
she meant.

with the Brunswick people to make one record, whereon
the screen star could do anything he pleased –
sing, talk or play the violin, on which he is quite an expert.
