Work on Chaplin Film at End Until Next Year
Due to Domestic Troubles
Blue Monday yesterday found Charles Chaplin, comedian,
appropriately blue in spirit and his estranged wife,
the beautiful Lita Grey Chaplin, silent to all but her attorney,
George Beebe.
Aside from a brief visit by Mrs. Chaplin to her attorney,
the case appeared to be at a standstill. The comedian
apparently had retired to seek the solace of quietude.
The quiet was absolute over both his home
and studio. The latter was shut down tight, as it had been
since his wife left him last week.“ (...)
