      FOR CHAPLIN

      Hollywood boulevard, in the vicinity of the Chines Theater,

is to be a blaze of lights tonight.

      Festive decorations have been provided for the opening

of Charlie Chaplin‘s first picture in more than two years,

The Circus, which Sid Grauman is giving a gala presentation.

      The foremost celebrities of the cinema city will attend

in the comedian‘s honor.

      Surrounding the picture Grauman has devised a circus

prologue, which he calls Ballyhoo. Poodles Hanneford

is the featured performer, while new talent just announced

includes Pepito, another clown; Samaroff and Sonia,

Russian dancers; Ed and Jenny Rooney, trapeze performers,

and the Three Freehands, equilibrists.“

      Artists in New York January 6, 1928.
