„Unusual proportions“
Editorial content. „Rialto
Considering the uncomfortable, humid weather,
the audience which attended the Monday
matinee performance was of unusual proportions.
Wallace Reid in What‘s Your Hurry is the
feature attraction, with Charles Chaplin in a comedy revival,
The Adventurer, holding second place. Ruth
Kellogg Waite, a soprano, and Eduardo Albano, baritone,
are the soloists and render, respectively, Love
Is Best of All from Princess Pat and Serenade Espagnol
Puccini‘s overture from The Girl of the Golden
West and the organ solo, Wagner‘s march from Tannhauser,
round out the musical program. The customary
news reel failed to arouse any enthusiasm, the audience
greeting the war news from the Polish-Russian
front with a generally indifferent attitude.“
Rialto Theatre, Broadway at 42nd Street, New York.
