Rob Wagner, closest personal friend of Charlie Chaplin,
has been before the Grand Jury all week as the chief
object of Federal Investigation of parlor Bolshevism here.
There is a persistent rumor that Chaplin himself
will ultimately be called. It is understood that a subpoena is
already made out and will be served on the comedian
at the psychological moment.
Meanwhile, the comedy king remains incommunicado,
refusing to see reporters.“ (...)
