San Francisco – Friends of Carol Nathan think he eclipses
BOXOFFICE‘s „20-Year Showmen.“
Nathan started, while still a student, as usher at the
legitimate Clunie Theatre in Sacramento back in

1903.He took half interest in the Actograph Theatre in 1914
and remained there until 1917 when he went to
Louisville, Ky., and covered seven southern states as salesman
for the Big Feature Rights Corp.
In August 1917 Nathan joined Universal in New York.
He quit as branch manager in 1927 to join Edward
Baron in building the Marina Theatre. In 1937 Nathan and
Baron built the El Presidio. All in all, Nathan has
been in the theatre business 42 years.

taken charge of the Actograph theatre, at Sacramento.

You will be interested to know what I did with Carmen.
Well, there were three surprises.
First, the high class of patrons attracted, inclusive of Governor
Johnson himself.
Second, the smashing of all box office records.
Third, that Sacramento is a good picture
town if you give them the goods.
Any picture that will attract like this is cheap at the price.
We lined them up as early as 7:30 and kept them
that way for five days.
If you have any more at home like Carmen save them for.
