      The Theatre of Comfort

AS SHAKESPEARE said: „The Play‘s the Thing,“ but equally important is the comfort in which you can see it. You‘ll

appreciate this if you visit the Victoria, where special arrangements provide unusual comfort. The beautiful, harmonious

decorative scheme, big, roomy seats, lofty ceilings, are all

big factors in the evening‘s entertainment. This

Victoria comfort is more than a fancy – you‘ll find it‘s a fact.

& The case of the Victoria theater is but one illustration

of his discernment in the matter of pictures, and

it also shows his remarkable knowledge of just what the

public wants. It was predicted that when he put on

big feature films at the Victoria he had not sized up the

public right. Mr. Buhler, however, had the conviction

that the public wanted to see these big pictures, that they

were wiling to see them at popular prices and he,

believing in a liberal use of printer‘s ink, after advertising

these various films, put them on. The result was

that every week at the Victoria it is almost impossible

at any hour to obtain admittance.

„The long lines of people outside our theatre afternoon

and evening to see the only Charlie Chaplin, is the best proof

of the success of this production.“

„We turned one of the worst theatrical weeks of the

year, into one of the best, only going to prove that if you give

the people what they want they will patronize your theatre.

      (Signed) Frank W. Buhler.
